"For Our Family, BJP Is Our Mother": G Somashekhara Reddy To NDTV

The BJP has been facing intense criticism from the Congress since it named Gali Somashekhara Reddy as a candidate for the Karnataka elections on May 12. The Reddy brothers - lawmakers and ministers during the earlier BJP government in the state - have been accused of conducting largescale illegal mining across the iron-ore-rich district of Ballari. Speaking to NDTV on the campaign train, Somashekhara Reddy says the allegations have been made by the Congress and are "illegal". He says the BJP does not believe the allegations against the Reddy brothers, for whom the party is like their mother.
